espira is located in Ashton in the Adelaide Hills, only 20 minutes from the city, and one of Australia’s most beautiful and gastronomically acclaimed wine and food regions. It is uniquely set on its own on “Dream Hill". There is only your accommodation.
The site enjoys the panoramic views of the vineyard and further beyond to Marble Hill, Piccadilly Valley, and the Barossa Ranges.
The accommodation has a striking, contemporary design with premium fixtures, fittings, and appliances. It is generous in space (56 sqm), and incorporates a separate bedroom with a king-size bed, and a kitchen with all amenities. The living room has a wood fireplace for the winter months and the exterior has a deck with an outdoor bath, dining space, and fire pit, to enjoy the surrounding views, breathtaking sunsets, and star-filled night skies.

espira is surrounded by the organic vineyards of ‘Casa Freschi’ wines, which has an onsite, intimate cellar door, offering wine flights and cheese platters. In winter, stand around the outdoor fire for roasted chestnuts or take a bottle of wine (or two), up to your accommodation for secluded privacy.

We want to reconnect our guests with nature and themselves. We are mindful of the environment and the accommodation is solar-powered and harvests rainwater. It is pre-fabricated to a high standard of energy efficiency and we aim for a zero-waste system by restricting the use of single-use packaging, and recycling.

Every season at espira is beautifully different. In winter, cosy up to the fireplace, or sit around the fire pit with a glass of wine. Wander down to the cellar door for roasted chestnuts, or simply enjoy a wine flight with local cheeses. In autumn, the surrounding vines turn golden and the weather is beautiful for nature walks. In spring, the new leaves on the vines are a vibrant green and the diversity of the local blossoms is stunning. In the summer months, you can experience long, warm nights on the deck, watching the beautiful sunsets.

The local area has many attractions, all within close distance to espira
walking trails
espira is situated near the Heyson Trail, and the property leads to the Horsnel Gully circuit trail, a hidden gem in the Adelaide hills. The circuit trail is 4.7km return (2hrs), and you will see many koalas, kangaroos, and the occasional echidna. You will pass through Magic Valley, and Giles ruins before climbing up to beautiful views of the city and beyond.

espira is in close proximity to world-class restaurants, cellar doors, and cafes. Within 5 km our favourites include the Uraidla Hotel, Summertown Aristologist, Cherry Bomb Café, The Scenic Hotel, Mt Lofty House, Ashton Hill Winery, Greenhills, and Ten Miles East. A little further away are the wineries, distilleries, and restaurants in and about Hahndorf, and the city of Adelaide is only a 20-minute drive.
